During the beginning stages of the Modern Art Movement linocut (or lino-printing) was introduced into the United States. This form which is created from mirrored relief prints on linoleum tiles became a popular medium eventually replacing traditional woodcuts. Prints are made on paper or fabrics, and sometimes using intricate techniques to bring images to life.
And here is your chance to take on this art form in simplistic, easy-to-apply methods with a teacher with 20+ years in the printmaking field!
Classes are planned and developed for all levels of skill, and experience and thinking outside the box is always encouraged. This is your art, and while the skill is being passed on through learning, it is your individual talents and what you share that will make this experience valuable for everyone involved!
This class is designed for beginners to the medium, and allows for those interested to push forward into creating their own custom art prints. Two classes will be held on Sept. 12th and September 26th, the first of which will teach you the basics of linocuts and printing with pre-drawn linoleum designs for you to cut and print, while the second will allow you to design and produce a series to call your own!
